The Filmfare Awards are one of the most prestigious awards in the Indian film industry. They are presented annually by The Times Group to honor excellence in Hindi cinema. The awards were first presented in 1954 and have been held every year since then, with the exception of 1964 and 1971. The Filmfare Awards are considered to be the Indian equivalent of the Academy Awards.
