The Heritage Hotels Scheme provides financial assistance to owners of heritage properties to undertake renovation and restoration work, thereby preserving and promoting these properties.

To be classified as a heritage hotel, a property must possess historical or architectural significance, reflecting the cultural heritage of India.

The Heritage Hotels Scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of 50% of the total project cost for renovation and restoration work.

To be classified as a palace hotel, a property must have been the residence of a royal family or a person of similar status.

To be classified as a heritage classic hotel, a property must meet all of the following requirements: it must be at least 50 years old, have historical or architectural significance, and have at least 50 rooms.

The Heritage Classic Hotels Scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of 50% of the total project cost for renovation and restoration work.

To be classified as a heritage budget hotel, a property must meet all of the following requirements: it must be at least 25 years old, have historical or architectural significance, and have at least 25 rooms.

The Heritage Budget Hotels Scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of 25% of the total project cost for renovation and restoration work.

To be classified as a heritage homestay, a property must meet all of the following requirements: it must be located in a rural area, have historical or architectural significance, and have at least 5 rooms.

The Heritage Homestay Scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of 25% of the total project cost for renovation and restoration work.

To be classified as a heritage village, a property must meet all of the following requirements: it must be located in a rural area, have historical or architectural significance, and have at least 10 rooms.
