The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is the nodal agency for the promotion of sports in India. It provides scholarships to athletes through various schemes such as the National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC) and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

The Dronacharya Award is a national award given to coaches for their outstanding contribution to sports. It is not a scholarship.

The NSTC is open to athletes in the age group of 14-18 years.

The maximum amount of scholarship that an athlete can receive under the NSTC scheme is ₹15,000 per month.

Family income is not a criterion for selection under the NSTC scheme.

The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is given to athletes who have achieved excellence in both individual and team sports.

The cash prize given to the recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is ₹12.5 lakh.

The Arjuna Award is given to athletes who have achieved excellence in individual sports.

The cash prize given to the recipient of the Arjuna Award is ₹5 lakh.

The Dronacharya Award is given to coaches who have produced outstanding athletes in both individual and team sports.

The cash prize given to the recipient of the Dronacharya Award is ₹10 lakh.

The National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC) is a government scholarship program. The other options are private sports scholarship programs.

The JSW Sports Excellence Program provides scholarships to athletes in cricket, football, and hockey.

The GoSports Foundation Scholarship Program provides scholarships to athletes in athletics, badminton, and boxing.

The Olympic Gold Quest Scholarship Program provides scholarships to athletes in archery, shooting, and wrestling.
